Substance Use Recovery

Abhaya Wellness believes in building mindfulness-inspired recovery systems that incorporate mindfulness practices and principles into all aspects of care for individuals with substance use disorders or other addictive behaviors. We currently offer these services at the outpatient level of care (up to 8hrs of services per week).

The mindfulness-inspired recovery system aims to help individuals develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and to develop the skills to manage them in a healthier way, rather than relying on substances to cope. Our approach utilizes mindfulness practices to support individuals in achieving and maintaining long-term recovery from addictive behaviors. We emphasize the importance of addressing underlying issues and emotional experiences that contribute to the development and maintenance of addictive behaviors. Our system of care also seeks to promote a culture of recovery in our community, and to create a supportive environment that nurtures the individual’s ability to maintain recovery over time.
