Meet Matt Bader, MD
MD
Medical Director
If you’re reading this, chances are that you are a human being. This would mean that you have had your share of suffering as this is part of what it means to be living a human experience. Sometimes that suffering and pain impacts one’s life in such a way that seeking psychiatric care may indeed make sense to aid in healing.
Dr. Matt Bader is a general and addictions trained psychiatrist who would be honored to be part of that journey should you seek such care. Matt completed medical school at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey and then sought progressively warmer temperatures at Duke University for his psychiatric residency training and then at Medical University of South Carolina for an addictions fellowship.
Matt has trained and worked in numerous settings including residential, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), emergency care, therapeutic communities, and outpatient treatment. Through these experiences, he has learned to appreciate how challenging it can be to support and cultivate one’s mental health while also believing that there is an inner healing and wisdom within everyone.
Matt believes that a path to wellness can have many ingredients including medication, good nutrition, restorative sleep, regular movement/exercise, mindfulness, and meaningful social relationships. A pill simply cannot fully cure what ails us, though medication management surely can be a foundational piece towards healing.
Matt works with adults ages 18-65 y/o suffering from general psychiatric concerns such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD as well as substance use disorders.
In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, dog, and cats as well as running, reading, and becoming increasingly frustrated with both the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers.
