Lior Vered-Langley earned her BA and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Fayetteville State University, her Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where she additionally completed the Substance Use and Addiction Specialist (SUAS) program, is certified trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) through The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and completed a traineeship at the Durham VA’s Trauma Recovery Program (PTSD Clinical Team) and the Substance Use Disorders program. In 2022, Lior was honored as a Tillman Scholar; a selective and competitive scholarship foundation that nominates individuals who’ve demonstrated extraordinary academic potential, leadership ability, and a deep desire to create positive change through their work in the fields of medicine, law, business, policy, technology, education, and the arts. Lior is also a proud military widow.
Lior specializes in trauma, grief, life transitions, relationships, connection, and helping clients find meaning, purpose, and joy. She has a warm place in her heart for people in the military, veterans, first responders, and their families. Lior’s therapeutic style most utilizes traditional talk therapy; however, she approaches each client as an individual by customizing their treatment needs with a variety of experiential techniques and therapeutic modalities, she’s specifically trained in. Lior applies a mixture of therapeutic theory, frameworks, including but not limited to Trauma-Informed therapy practices, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, Post-Traumatic Growth Practices, Couples Therapy, Attachment-Based Behavioral Therapy, The Satir Method, and an array of somatic therapy approaches such as mindfulness, and self-compassion. Lior is committed to exploring new methods and opportunities to better serve her clients. In 2024 Lior began her EMDR training journey and is now considered EMDR Informed, she became an EAGALA Military Designated Mental Health Practitioner. and a Star Behavioral Health Tier 1 Clinician, allowing her to serve more military connected individuals.
Lior believes compassion, trust, and growth-focused work are essential for healing. As a therapist, she strives to create a space where clients meet her clients where they are at, tailor her approach specific for them so they can access their true selves and explore new ways of being and living. Lior is skilled at providing clients with the space to look at the stories we tell about ourselves and the world, discover their strengths and resilience, and find meaning and joy through pain and trauma. Lior sees the therapeutic relationship as a close partnership where she works together with her clients to find the best way forward. She recognizes her clients as experts in their own lives and celebrates them as such.
In her free time, she enjoys dancing, hiking, camping, rock climbing, playing board games, attending sporting events, and spending time with her loved ones.
