Recovery Coach

Preston Truett

Preston Truett’s journey to becoming a recovery coach is directly intertwined with his personal adventure with alcoholism and addiction. For the past 11 years, Preston has navigated the ups and downs of recovery, which is ultimately what led him to the opportunity to be a recovery coach.

Preston’s approach to coaching is shaped by his core beliefs in service, altruism, and spirituality. He believes that these specific values can best guide struggling individuals through their difficult times and offer an opportunity to turn suffering into grace. Preston enjoys meaningful conversations with people where direct communication allows us to tackle profound questions that often surround addiction and the relationship with ourselves.

Prior to this experience, Preston earned a degree in forest management and entomology from North Carolina State University. He worked with the North Carolina Forest Service, where he developed a deep appreciation and wonder for the natural world. However, his desire to help and work more directly with people led him to pursue a master’s degree in social work at NC State, where he’s currently enrolled.

Preston’s hope is to support others in their journey wherever he can best be of service. As a recovery coach, he strives to offer clarity, understanding, and practical suggestions to help individuals rediscover their lives and navigate challenges.
